Dongming Hill Forest Park

kilometers away from the downtown Hangzhou, the Forest Park is located
in the Dongming Hill in the northern suburbs of Anxi Town where
the Liangzhu Cultural Relics, one of the world-class archaeological
wonders, were found. The forest resort is 5 kilometers off No. 104
State Highway.
The park spreads on a large area of 400 hectares
where hills circle and trees grow thickly. A summit look will give
one a thrilling panoramic view of the serried hills and verdant
bamboo tops spreading out and showing their quiet splendor. The
unique natural and geographical environment forms a small climate
zone where it is rather warm in winter and cool in summer. With
the yearly average temperatures ranging from 14.8℃ to 15.7℃, the
park attracts tourists. 
The park abounds
with historical sites. The Dongming Temple was first erected in
the Ming Dynasty and culminated during the reign of Emperor Qianlong
in the Qing Dynasty. The temple was originally called Gudao Temple.
Legends have it that Emperor Jianwen of the Ming Dynasty went all
the way to visit the hill. The emperor arrived when it began to
dawn and he wrote down two Chinese characters in memory of his experience.
What he inscribed was Dong Ming, meaning that it is dawning on the
east. The temple later was called Dongming Temple. The temple was
destroyed by Japanese invaders in World War II.
On the ancient premises of the temple stands
an osmanthus tree, presumably planted by Emperor Jianwen. The tree
stills bursts into its golden and orange blossoms and fragrance
every autumn though only a tiny bark on the tree trunk is alive
to keep the patriarchal plant alive. 
The Bamboo Hotel sits snugly in the park, providing
